The Meiji Restoration brought modernization and westernization ideas to make the country to advance like the other countries this time period (Meiji Restoration). Japan joins the World War I along the side of the Allies with United States even though they are not liking each other with past issues. After the World War I, Japan suffers economic crisis. Japan joins World War II by invading Indochina in 1937. On December 7, 1941, Japan drops a sneak attack on United States at Pearl Harbor. On August 6 and 9, 1945 The atomic bombs Little Boy and Fat Man were dropped into Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan which changed the war for Japan. The bombs killed over 100,000 people in both cities. In 1951, Government changes for Japan from the imperial and military styles of government to a parliamentary democracy government (Facts about Japan 2013). This new government is the same that is still in use today thanks to United States step in after World War II.
